Seminar on Crime Prediction Support System (CPSS) on 22.02.2020

Research and Development Cell & Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering conducted a Seminar on “Crime Prediction Support System (CPSS) – State of art Artificial Intelligence Based Expert System for Crime Prediction” at ECE Smart Digital Hall on 22.02.2020. Dr. ETHIRAJAN GOVINDA RAJAN, Professor, President of Pentagram Research Center Private Limited, Hyderabad was the Chief Guest of the programme.

Research and Development Cell & Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering conducted a Seminar on “Crime Prediction Support System (CPSS) – State of art Artificial Intelligence Based Expert System for Crime Prediction” at ECE Smart Digital Hall on 22.02.2020. Dr. ETHIRAJAN GOVINDA RAJAN, Professor, President of Pentagram Research Center Private Limited, Hyderabad was the Chief Guest of the programme.

Dr.C.G.Ravichandran, M.E., Ph.D., Principal, Vivekanandha College of Technology for Women felicitated the gathering and Dr. P.T. Kalaivaani, M.E., Ph.D.PDF, Head & Department of ECE also graced the inaugural function of the programme.

Faculty Development Program on “Digital Signal Processing” held at 29.10.2019 to 04.11.2019

Six days Faculty Development Program (FDP) was organized successfully with participation of our college faculty members. The FDP addresses the various aspects of Advances of Digital Signal Processing and promotes student centric effective teaching-learning pedagogy among the participants.This FDP was aimed for teachers who are teaching various disciplines of Science and Engineering subjects in our college. There were 36 numbers of participants registered for this programme from our college and all the participants successfully completed the programme. Prof. Dr.D.VISWANATHAN, Advisor inaugurated the programme. In his inaugural address, Advisor sir stressed upon the paradigm changes from black board based teaching to modern ICT base teaching and the importance of using online tools for teaching and evaluation in present days. Prof.Dr.N.Kasthuri , Professor/ECE, Kongu Engineering College,Erode was the Chief Guest in the inaugural function. Dr. C. G. Ravichandran, Principal and Dr. P. T.Kalaivaani, Head, Department of ECE also graced the inaugural function of the programme. Resource Persons from reputed academic institutions like NIT Pudhucherry, TCE, KEC having expertise in the different relevant areas related to the programme deliver the lectures in this Faculty Development Programme.

Value added Training Program on “Verilog & VHDL held on 29/12/18”

The department of ECE has conducted a Value added Training Program on “Verilog & VHDL” by Mr.N.ARUMUGAM, M.E.,Assistant Professor, Government College of Technology, Coimbatore acted as Chief Guest on 29/12/18. Dr.P.T.KALAIVANI, M.E., PhD., Associate Professor and Head of the Department welcomed the gatherings, Dr.C.G.RAVICHANDRAN, M.E., PhD., Principal and Dr.R.PRAKASH, M.E., PhD., Dean of Vivekanandha College of Technology for women, facilitated the gatherings. A Full day session described about the low power VLSI circuits and the layout design of MOS circuits with the help of design rules and simulation tools. The Presentation addressed how to save time,money andincrease profits with Tanner EDA's design software.Tanner Tools is a software suite for the design, layout and verification of analog, mixed-signal, RF and MEMS ICs.

The Innovation Club and Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering cordially conducted One day National Level seminar on “Innovation and Startups” held at VCTW Seminar Hall on 29.12.2018. The Chief Guest of this seminar was Dr.K.Balakrishnan, M.Sc., Ph.D., Principal Scientific Officer, TBI, Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathyamangalam. Mrs.K.Janaki M.E.,AP/ECE (Club Coordinator) welcomed the gatherings and Dr.C.G.Ravichandran, M.E.,Ph.D., Principal, Vivekanandha College of Technology for Women facilitated the gathering then Dr.R.Prakash, M.Tech., Ph.D., Dean Academic [ECE,EEE & CIVIL] and Dr.P.T.Kalaivaani, M.E., Ph.D., Head of the Department,Electronics and Communication Engineering gave the special address to the gatherings.The programme was very useful for our Faculty Members, UG and PG students to send the Innovative Idea project proposal to MSME Business Incubator, New Generation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (NEWGEN IEDC) and National Initiative on Developing and Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI - TBI) Agencies

ECE Association Inauguration held on 24-09-2018

The Department of ECE Association “ASCONICS” has been inaugurated on 24.09.2018 for the academic year of 2018-19 by the Chief Guest Dr.R.Asokan ,Principal Kongunadu College and Technology, Thottiyam,Trichy.

In the Inaugural function, the Chief Guest Dr.R.Asokan has presented a guest lecture on “IoT & Its Applications”. The detailed view about IoT & its application in the field of Health Care and Smart City are discussed. Student office bearers of the association were introduced after the Inaugural address.

ECE Association ASCONICS’17 & IETE Student’s Forum (ISF) ‘17 was successfully inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr.G.MURUGESAN, M.E.,Ph.D., Head of the Department, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai, Erode , Principal Dr.KCK.Vijayakumar, Academic Dean Prof.Dr.R.Saravanakumar, Head of the Department Prof.Dr.S.Anbumozhi, Mr.N.Vijay, ECE Association Coordinator and Mrs.N.Porchelvi, IETE Coordinator on 28th June 2017 at our college premises. The chief guest Prof. Dr.G.Murugesan , M.E., Ph.D., gave a good description about the History of IETE-ISF, Objective and Benefits of IETE and how to clear the CAT & GATE Examination.

The chief guest was Dr.T.Gunasekaran, Professor, Dept of Electronics and Telecommunication, Higher college of Technology, Muscat, Oman. He gave a guest lecture on “Industrial Application of RF Systems”.

One Day Seminar and Workshop on "Search, Learn, Share-Tools for Projects ”was conducted at VCTW Seminar hall A/C on September 14, 2015. The chief guest was DR.ARTHANARI., M.Sc., M.Phil., M.S., Ph.D., Chief Editor-International Journal of Innovative Technology & Creative Engineering (U.K), and Advisory Member of JoinToGrow.com & JoinToGrow.com TEAM. It was an opportunity to all students for getting the knowledge in the area of how to handle the Tools for projects also they had a chance to clear their doubts regarding tools for the projects.

Association Inaugural function 2014 & One day Seminar on "Embedded System Programming"

The ECE Association ASCONICS'14 was inaugurated on August 7,2014 for the academic year 2014-15.The Welcome address was delivered by Dr.T.Gunasekaran,HOD/ECE. Principal Dr.S.Suresh kumar gave special address. Office bearer introduction was done by Association Secretary Ms.Sirobhusnam SaiAnjani. The chief guests were Er.J.VenkatesanPrabhu, ManagingDirector, Er.J.Arunachalam, HR Executive Kaashiv Infotech, Chennai. As a MD, Er.J.VenkatesanPrabhu explained the expectation of a company from students.His speech was enthusiastic to all. Er.J.Arunachalam took the seminar in the topic "Embedded System Programming" for all ECE students in After Noon Session. Surprisingly, they conducted a spot interview and gave internship training call letter to 3 students from Kaashiv Infotech.

3 Day Workshop on "Electronic System Design for Industrial Applications"

Three Day Workshop on Electronic System Design for Industrial Applications was started on August 26, 2014 at 10.30AM. The ultimate aim of this Workshop was to bring the industrial knowledge to the students while they are doing mini project .The chief guest was Er.M.Dhilipkumar,Senior Project Engineer, Raana Power solutions,Bangalore.Team of 5 members from Raana were in this workshop for teaching students and helped them to do project themselves. All 3 day were fully utilized by final year ECE students.

One Day Seminar on "Latest Technology in Telecommunication"

One Day Seminar on "Latest Technology in Telecommunication" was conducted at VCTW Seminar hall A/C on January 21, 2015. The chief guest was Er.J.Anbalagan, Sub-Divisional Officer, BSNL, Salem.It was an opportunity to all communication students for getting the knowledge in the area of Telecommunication also they had a chance to clear their doubts regarding base station, switching centre etc., in Telecom field.

One Day Workshop on "Network Simulator-NS2" was conducted on February 10, 2015. The Chief Guest was Dr.V.Bhanumathi, Assistant Professor, Anna University Regional Centre, Coimbatore.This event was mainly conducted for final year project students.Chief Guest explained the concepts in Network Simulator then practical session was conducted afternoon for final year students.
